Artist Spotlight: Angel

Artist Spotlight: Angel

DSC00247We’re all working hard to get ready for our next show here at ACS. The show will feature artwork with a rural theme to match the gallery space at the Stanley-Whitman house in Farmington.

Angel is collaborating with several other artists on a large barn house. A friend of the studio donated this large canvas to us. This friend is also a talented architect who designed the house in the painting. It looks so much like a barn that it was the perfect subject for the large canvas!

Angel describes himself as a very precise artist. He likes to create very detailed pieces featuring different subjects like cartoon characters, creatures, designs, and symbols.

This painting was outside of Angel’s comfort zone, but he said, “It helps to have collaborators. If they add stuff, it gives you an idea of what you should do. You can see where they’re going with it.”

The show at Stanley Whitman will be up from July 2 – July 31 with an Opening Reception Thursday, July 10 from 4-6 pm.
