Art Connection Studio participates in Wadsworth Atheneum’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Day

Art Connection Studio was invited to facilitate the creation of a giant, community mandala at Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art for their all day event, Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Day, Inner Strength.

On January 18th, the museum hosted interactive and creative activities, meditation, and performances, all free to the public. More than 100 individuals and families participated in the creation of the mandala. Art Connection Studio’s staff, consisting of Tara, Ben, and Mike, teamed up with museum volunteers and asked people to create pictures or write words and phrases of inner strength on pieces of paper and glue them into the mandala. After about six hours the approximately 9-foot diameter (63.62-square-foot area) mandala was filled with inspiring images and words from the community.

A big thank you to the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art for letting us be a part of your community day, and we look forward to partnering up again for future events!
